I received my BA in Cognitive Science from Johns Hopkins University and am currently co-advised by Yi Ting Huang (Language & Cognition Lab) and Jared Novick (Cognition & Language Processing Lab) in the Hearing and Speech department at UMD. I study how children use their developing system of cognitive control (the ability to regulate mental activity toward a goal when faced with information-conflict during processing) to learn their native language(s). Specifically, I use eye-tracking to investigate how children and adults use their mental capacity for cognitive control to process sentences in real time.
