We’re always looking for people (both students and faculty) who are interested in helping us do outreach! Why might you be interested? It goes without saying that being able to give back to the community is a rewarding thing to do. We all can think of the people who inspired us to want to be scientists, and to try to help promote similar feelings is a pleasure.
However, doing outreach can be surprisingly useful for your professional career, too. There’s no better way to practice speaking publicly about your research than to give a lecture or demonstration of research to an audience that might not know anything at all about neuroscience or cognitive science. And sometimes the reactions or feedback you get might help you to get new insights into your research or your field more generally.
If you’re interested in participating, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and ask to join our mailing list.
