Bob Slevc is an Associate Professor in NACS and the Department of Psychology and is part of the Maryland Language Science Center and the Center for Comparative and Evolutionary Biology of Hearing. He received his Ph.D. at the University of California, San Diego and was a postdoctoral scholar at Rice University before coming to UMD. His research investigates (1) the cognitive mechanisms underlying language processing (especially language production) in both normal and brain-damaged populations and (2) music perception/cognition and how the processing of language and music are (and are not) related.

Dr. Slevc is not recruiting PhD students for Fall 2025.
