Hertz Foundation Graduate FellowshipBased on merit (not need) and consists of a cost-of-education allowance and a personal-support stipend. Must apply prior to joining a graduate program or within one year of graduate studies. The annual competition for Graduate Fellowships begins with the application period which opens each year in August.
Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds - PhD FellowshipThe PhD project must be experimental, in the field of basic biomedical research and aimed at elucidating basic biological phenomena of human life and acquiring new scientific knowledge. At the deadline, the applicant should not have been working on his/her project for more than 6 months.
Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans Not discipline specific. Aims to recognize accomplishments of New Americans (Either an immigrant or a child of immigrants). Usually due November of each year.
Ford FellowshipsThrough its Fellowship Programs, the Ford Foundation seeks to increase the diversity of the nation’s college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, to maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and to increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.
Association for Psychological Science Student Grant CompetitionIn an effort to encourage student research in psychological science, the APS Student Grant Competition provides small “seed grant” funding to support research in its initial development stages. Research proposals in all areas of psychological science are welcome.
Data Science FellowshipThe Data Incubator is a Cornell-funded data science training organization. We run an 8-week fellowship for PhDs looking to enter industry. A variety of innovative companies partner with The Data Incubator for their hiring and training needs, including LinkedIn, Genentech, Capital One, Pfizer, and many others. The program is free for admitted Fellows. open to graduate students who are within one year of graduating. Open to students on visa (see FAQ).
Fellows have the option to participate in the program either in person in New York City, Washington DC, the San Francisco Bay Area, or online.
The William Orr Dingwall Foundation - Dissertation Fellowship in the Cognitive, Clinical, and Neural Foundations of LanguageDissertation Fellowships are for doctoral candidates who are specializing in the cognitive, clinical, and neural foundations of language. The amount of the stipend will be $30,000 for a period of 12 consecutive months. Usually due in April each year. 
American Dissertation Fellowships - American Association of University Women (AAUW)Dissertation Fellowships offset a scholar’s living expenses while she completes her dissertation. The fellowship must be used for the final year of writing the dissertation. Only open to U.S. citizen or permanent residents.
International Fellowships - American Association of University Women (AAUW)International Fellowships are awarded for full-time study or research in the United States to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate studies at accredited U.S. institutions are supported.
BD Bioscience Research Grants Funding for your research only, NOT a fellowship. Funding for the most innovative ideas and encourage you to submit abstracts within evolving research areas that include: Multicolor flow cytometry; Cell signaling; Stem cell research; Immune function; Infectious diseases; Neuroscience research
Axol Science ScholarshipAxol Bioscience is excited to offer future life scientists the opportunity to receive $2000 in funding for any life science related degree program.
Cosmos Scholars GrantThe program provides grants to meet specific research needs not covered by other supporting funds, including but not limited to special supplies, travel, unanticipated expenses that would enhance the work, etc. Specifically excluded are general financial support, tuition, and living expenses (except in connection with supported travel).
Grass Fellowship Program at the Marine Biological Laboratory Grass Fellowships at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, USA, support investigator-designed, independent research projects by scientists early in their career. The duration of the program is 14 weeks, from May to September. Supported approaches include neurophysiology, biophysics, integrative neurobiology, neuroethology, neuroanatomy, neuropharmacology, systems neuroscience, cellular and developmental neurobiology, and computational approaches to neural systems. The Foundation also has a longstanding interest in epilepsy-related research.

McDonnell Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship Award in Studying Complex Systems provides fellowships to students completing doctoral training in the multidisciplinary field of complex systems science to give them more leeway in identifying and securing postdoctoral training opportunities in complex systems research.
