Jason Putnam is a current first year graduate student in the NACS program working in the lab of Dr. Nikolas Francis to help illuminate some of the mysteries of the auditory cortex and the link between auditory stimuli and behavioral outcomes. Jason received his BS in Neuroscience with a minor in Leadership from Christopher Newport University in 2020. After graduating he spent one year in the NIH-PREP program at Virginia Tech working in the lab of Dr. Matthew Buczynski, followed by a year as a research assistant in the Warren Center for Neuroscience Drug Discovery at Vanderbilt University in the lab of Dr. Jeffery Conn under post-doctoral fellow Dr. Shalini Dogra. Outside of science Jason is a competitive runner, Lover of music, and a bit of a Nerd.
