In October, NACS faculty Dr. Pamela Clark was among those honored during the 18th Annual UMD Research Leaders Luncheon. Dr. Clark leads the University of Maryland Tobacco Center of Regulatory Science (UMD TCORS), funded by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). UMD TCORS focuses on the study of a wide range of tobacco products and their impact on public health, and is one of 14 centers nationwide that provide the critical science base needed for the FDA to effectively regulate tobacco and protect public health.
