Jonathan Simon is a co-investigator on "Digital Biomarkers for Vascular Cognitive Decline in Patients with Minor Stroke", a new 5-year research project. The grant was awarded by NIH National Institute on Aging. The research project will use MEG, EEG, analytic techniques and machine learning to identify a biomarker that can predict which patients are at a higher risk of long term cognitive deficits. This will enable doctors to begin early interventions to slow or prevent cognitive decline.
The Principal Investigators are Elisabeth Breese Marsh of Johns Hopkins, and John Compton Mosher of UT Health Houston McGovern Medical School. There are an additional four co-investigators on the project.
