The Graduate School recently awarded Junaid Merchant the Outstanding Research Assistant award for the academic year of 2021-2022.  He was selected out of over 4,000 UMD graduate students who serve the UMD campus as administrative, research, or teaching assistants.  The award recognizes and honors the top 2% of campus Graduate Assistants for their outstanding contributions to students, faculty, departments, and the University as a whole.

Junaid's advisor is Dr. Elizabeth Redcay.
