Rebecca Glisson received her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2025. She is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Dr. Gregory F. Ball  and Dr. Robert Dooling's laboratory in the Psychology Department. Rebecca is mainly interested in the neural and hormonal mechanisms underlying the development of animal behavior - specifically how song develops in songbirds. At UMD, Rebecca is working on developing a foundation of knowledge in a new species that can be used in the lab, the zebra waxbill finch, which could be an ideal species to study the neural mechanisms of female song, a traditionally understudied topic.
