Dr. Devon Payne-Sturges, a new NACS faculty member, is part of Project TENDR, an unprecedented alliance of scientists, medical experts, and children’s health advocates who are calling for immediate action to significantly reduce exposure to environmental toxins in order to protect the brain development of children.

Project TENDR (Targeting Environmental Neuro-Developmental Risks) is a joint endeavor of the Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA) and the University of California Davis MIND Institute (Medical Investigations of Neurodevelopmental Disorders).

Based on scientific evidence, the TENDR authors are calling for the elimination or reduction of toxic chemicals and pollutants, including lead, mercury, and organophosphate pesticides, that increase children’s risks for neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, intellectual disabilities, and other learning and behavioral disabilities.
